ok, last one

please point out which one you think is best, well, that is if you think any of them are good,

also, cruel (well...to a point ) critiques will be accepted...

get picky with these...please point out anything you might not like about these shots!

they aren't my favorites...so i won't take it personally, but as a way to improve..

ok, this shot was on the way to the big fall (the first shot)

thanks for your time!

enjoy

First, you should never take critiques personal...insults can be personal, a real critique should be taken as either constructive and your learn from it or you simply disagree with the critiquer's assessment and don't worry about it.

Now for your shots. The single leaf is by far the best of the ones posted. It's simple yet gives the viewer something to think about. It is very well composed and I really like the image. I thought all of the falls shots were underexposed (at least as viewed on my monitor (which is calibrated every 2 weeks, so I am confident that it's fairly true)). You lost significant amounts of detail in the shadows and the colors seemed muted. I like the exposure times you chose, giving the water the sense of movement. In general, the compositions were good. I particularly liked the composition of number 2 and also 4.

JMO, do with it as you wish :-)

thanks for your comments henry!

good point about critiques...definetely something EVERYONE should know before posting pictures...

i think my LCD is dying or something...sometimes the WB doesn't show up on the screen like it should...and i don't think it's calibrated properly for exposure...

lol, i checked the histogram a couple times, and it's ALWAYS on the dark side...but if i expose it "correctly" it washes out on the LCD....and it doesn't look good...

hmm,...another thing i noticed, in another thread you had (sry i hijacked it btw), there was a discussion about metering...i don't think my meter is working right...

when the image looks good in the LCD (how i normally choose exposure) the meter says "-2", i change it, and it still says that...lol

well, thanks for commenting!

thanks picnet!

here's the exposure times...

First one: .80th of a second
Second one: 1/4th of asecond
Third one: 1/4th of a second
Fourth one: .80th of a second
Fifth one: 1/3th of a second

that's it...

enjoy
