Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a picture from my portofollio. My interest in photography started about a year ago. This picture was taken with an Olympus 740.

I woke up in my hotel room on the 10th floor in Miami Beach and opened my window and this is what I saw! My camera was luckily right next to me and I wasted no time to capture this moment. I took a couple of shots and the best one was coincidentally the one with the boat right in the center.

Your comments are greatly appreciated !

This is a very nice shot.

A lot of the time, sky/sea shots have a lot of nice colours, but also a lot of nothing. Your shot uses almost the entire frame. The sea is a little bland, but it is necessary to establish the scale of the shot. If you could find a way to emphasize the play of light in the foreground... (maybe simply bumping up the contrast of the whole shot) then this would be amazing.

Regards,

Tom, on Point Pelee, Canada

Hi,

Great sunrise. I love how the boat is in there.

I thought I would add to the thread instead of starting a new one.
Here is this morning's sunrise looking at Keats Island, BC.

Beverly

Comments always welcome.

Great shot Beverly. The colors are beautiful. The pole in the bottom of the picture could be easily removed with Photoshop with the clone tool. That would make the picture even more perfect. Great job

Thanks for the nice comment.

I did find the pole distracting even when taking pics. It is a flag pole and the high winds a couple of weeks ago blew the flag away. I will have to try the clone tool. I am new to ps and haven't used it yet.

Thanks again.
