the wife and I took a quick drive into the mountains to test out the new nikon cp8800. I am still very much learning as this is my first camera other than point and shoot.

This is of the columbia icefields on a very grey day....

The second shot is wonderful except for the horizon is terribly slanted. This can be fixed in most image editing software.

I like them both, but I am especially drawn into the first one. You are so lucky to live near such incredible scenery! (Cold though, eh? I'm still enjoying weather in the 40's F before hunkering down for the long, cold winter.)

Hard to tell, but I think the horizon is a bit off on that one, too. I used to have that problem with my last digicam for some reason. Ergonomically incorrect, I guess.

I hope Santa is kind to you! :-)

Thanks chick! I am going to start using the "grid" on the view finder until I get a better feel for the horizon.

Yup, you guys/gals get some nasty weather there too. I am very much looking forward to seeing Newyork as I have never been to that area. I think I will wait until summer though.

I have been extra good this year so santa should be nice.
