I was in the kitchen making dinner when my 3 year old son said "Daddy, look at all the colours in the sky!" I looked out the window, grabbed the camera, ran out on the deck and took these. I used my cheap, plastic 6" tripod and the self timer.

Not the best composition in the world but I'm amazed at the colours the sky can produce.

Cheers!

Kevin

Hi neighbour; (there's a few people hanging around here from our neck of the woods)

The skies are nice in your shots, but I think the trees are really cluttering up the images. There are some features in the lower portion of the shot that we just have to guess at. (They look suspiciously like those pvc water lines they've been putting in out your way.)

Maybe a tighter crop would help to focus our attention on the sky.

Keep posting, we need more Essex County folks here.

Hi,

I love it - and the tracery of winter branches too. My monitor is too dark to see any pvc stuff! The vertical trunk, just parallel to the right hand edge, is for me a little bit distracting though...but I think it's a lovely pic.

Hi Tom.

I appreciate your comments. I'm impressed with many of the pictures you've posted and it's nice to see some pics of familiar, local subjects.

If I would've had more time the composition on my shots would have been much better (I hope!) But with a pot of pasta boiling on the stove and 3 hungry kids and a wife waiting for dinner I didn't have much time to think it out.

As for the foreground - it's my fence and my neighbours shed. The shot looks west towards Highway Three very close to the Essex Civic Centre.

Cheers!

Kevin

I thought so; I've driven past there every day for the last 15 years.
