As aways, good shot Bob, your love for "sunscapes" shine through [getting philosopical now]

Just a thought, as Peripatetic says, maybe it isdust, or moisture from condensation might have caused mildew, or maybe even some small insect [I saw an Extremely small animal crawling IN the viewfinder of my 20D, was there for about a day, haven't seenit again

P.S. good news about the sensor. I mean, too bad about your current camera and the dust, but at least it means you don't have to stop bringing us our "fix" of sunsets / sunrises
