After an especially wet spring my wife and I made our first trip to Hetch Hetchy and hiked to the falls. A breautiful walk. This shot was taken from the Dam.

Thanks for looking Bob, I will post some of the other shots I took. This was my first trip to the reservoir. I was told by locals that before the dam was constructed, sometime in the early 1900's, this valley rivaled the beauty of Yosemite. I certainly thought it was impressive. Let me resize a few more pics for posting.

Here is a link to more shots of that beautiful valley. I hope you enjoy them.

Thanks, Smac

Awesome series! It's hot and humid here today, I would love to walk in the spray of the falls right about now! Thanks for the link, I really enjoyed it!

You are most welcome.
The water temp was about 40F. When I walked across the bottom of the falls the spray gave be a brain freeze on the side of my head. It was like walking infront of 50 fire hoses. Took you breath away, for sure.

Here is a historical photo I found of the valley before the dam was constructed.
It's said that fhe construction of this dam broke John Muir's heart.

Stay cool Bob,

Steve

Nice shots smac. Good to see you're posting again. I haven't noticed you being about lately, and was wondering what happened to you-either that or I just missed your postings. Keep up the good shooting....cheers....thekman.

Thanks Thekman,
I just got real busy with the end of school and other of lifes issues so it didn't leave much time for photos. I was still checking out the posts from time to time but just did not have time to take or post anything new. Hopefully with more free time this summer I can post some new shots. I see that there are lots of new members to keep things going.

All the best,
smac
