Hi all, tried my hand at some dune photos this morning. Let me know what you think.

I find the detail in second one much more interesting than the first one, but I really like the depth of field in the first one.

1st has my vote too... the footprints allow the imagination to see someone crossing the peak of the ridge. Nice shot.

I think the second has too much distracting detail. The 1st is wonderful.

first shot is definitely best. it's simple, elegant, and yet the footprints engage the viewer's curiosity and interest. the sharp ridgeline, and the contrast between the smooth face of the dune and the wavy back surface, also addto the visual effect. nice job!

Love that first one. Just to be contrary I think i might have prefered it without the footprints, but it's a winner either which way!

John.

Thanks for all the comments. The footprints where a difficult one for me, do I clone them out or leave them. I think the fact that they are bird footprints and not people prints encouraged me to leave them.
