Yes, I used a polarizer. That's all. Shot at f/8 @1/640......thekman.

ThanksBob. I don't point the lens at the sun for very long. Raise it up quickly and shoot. But I don't really think you have to worry about it if your f/stop isn't too big. I've never had any trouble yet or before with any other cameras. I'd be more worried about frying off the lens coating than anything. Afterall you're only exposing the ccd to the sun for a very small fraction of time. I would use a filter though, if you are considering doing this......Cheers.........thekman.
