I took these latethisafternoon with my Z20, I wanted to get a nice B&Wcountry scene for use as a background on my PC and as well test out some various settings on theZ20 cam I just got andknow nothing about...lol. I likeB&W country scenes and these were done in B&W and at50 iso....I really don't know what the other settings were...I was just blindly pressing the buttons and turning the dial, forgot my glasses onmy desk:lol:I resized these to 640x480 for easy web viewing, the original resolution was 2048x1536 and the quality was set to fine. Oh I also had a Cokin UV filter attached that I had just purchased while on the way out to shoot.

If you have any suggestion for settings one might use for B&W outdoor scenes like this I welcome you to post them for me to try out...I'm a photo shoot newbie and for methe Z20 is a real advancement over the Fuji FinePix 1300 I have been using for quite a few years :-)

Shot #1 - If you crop out some of the foreground you'd have a more pleasing composition - it dominates the picture a bit too much. The overall effect seems toodark, so you might also try playing with the levels in your editing software to lighten it up a little. Otherwise, it's a nice shot.

Shot #2 - This one's so dark I can barelysee it.

Shots #3 & 4 - The snow has an unnatural color-cast in the last two shots - setting the camera's white-balance to automatic or matching it to the lighting conditions should fix that. A tad too dark, too.

Keep on shooting and have fun with your Z20.

APhoto Shop edited versionof #1...cropped and contrast adjusted slightly.
