Hi crazynewfie! Welcome to the forum! Cool shot, I have never seen a house built in such a place, I think I would need to be inland just a tad bit more than this guy.

wow... talk about hard to get to! i assume that's just someone's vacation cabin... still, getting to the front door looks like a major challenge! is that a river in the foreground, or a salt waterinlet?

Yes, one wonders why someone would build a house on land on "stilts".

One obvious answer would be, of course, storms.

The less obvious answer might be the extreme tidal surges.

Now that's just crazy, it's actually a miracle that the place is still standing come summer! I think I'll give it a miss as a vacation hotel :-)

Thanks for sharing! John.

Thanks for welcoming me to the forum. This is a really nice place.

The photo above is of a fishing shed. It was used to store fishing gear like nets, ropes, traps or anything related to fishing. I also found out that it has been there now for over 50 years and there use to be a wharf build to it but the ocean hassweptit away about ten years ago when there was a huge storm.

You'd have to wait for a low tide to get to it!!! Must have quite a view from the backyard. Interesting shot indeed!
