G'day,

I quite like this pic. Although it does remind me of two things. Firstly it reminds of those adds where they talk about life insurance and reitirement benefit fund. And secondly as you look to the distance and the ship out to sea you can almost sense that an impending storm is going to hit.

All in all from my amateur point of view it isn't bad at all.

Gee, maybe I should be selling insurance instead. It would surely generate more income than doing this...cheers........thekman.

I especially liked the silhouette look of the figures against the dramatic sunset. Especially railings of the port and the shore. And the sea birds, also, contribute greatly to the overall tranquilty.
I did some sharpening and contrast adjustments, plus little cropping. Hope you also like it, thekman.
Farewell the unanchoring ship,
another day sweeps away,
and the curtains fall!

Thanks for the comments Ladyhawk and Bahadir. I'm not sure if I like it sharpened that much, though. Seems like there are halos now around the people and ship - although it could be my monitor........cheers..........thekman.

I have looked at this many times over the past few days and I can see why it is one of your favorite spots. I don't know why but one of the things I like in this shot is that the top of the railing on the pier lines up with the water, sounds goofy but it makes the shot look neat and tidy to me.

Thanks Bob. I like that pier too. It has a nice symmetry in most photos with the horizon line. I go there a lot, as you can tell. Nice and close, and usually an interesting sky. We all seem to have our favorite spots. The lake that you frequent, John's river through that wonderful forest, and lots of others I see from different perspectives..........cheers.......thekman.
