Here are some more from my recent vacation in southern California.

First, looking toward the harbor from San Pedro. This view looks over Cabrillo Beach to a small part of a huge harbor. Long Beach has the third busiest harbor in the world. Only Hong Kong and Singapore are busier.

Next, waves crashing into the breakwater at Cabrillo Beach.

This is an interesting beach. Part of it lies open to the ocean while the other part is protected by this breakwater. So, one side of the breakwater gets waves and the other side gets almost no wave action at all.

Finally, this is the protected side of the breakwater. Beautiful, calm clear water here.

There is so muchwonderful to say about this series, LadyhawkVa!

First, I love the border on your first photo! It "compliments" it perfectly!

The way that you go from long view to relatively close photo speaks of your eye for a photograph. I sense that you sought to capture the big picture, the little picture and everything in between and as many "points of the compass" as you could.

You "paint" a wonderful story in your photos and words of your vacation there.

Very, very

Digcamfan:

Thanks for looking and commenting. It's nice to know when one has successfully told a story in either words or images.

I too enjoyed the series.:GYou did a fantastic job of capturing the water breaking on the wall. I am envious. I took so many pictures at the beach last summer trying to capture the waves crashing....only a few was i semi pleased with. Now I am hoping to work harder to capture them like you did.:-)
