Don`t know the exact date of this stone circle.Shot in Raw converted using RSE

Birkrigg Common, Cumbria UK






Morcambe Bay is in the background, that is where the Chinese Cocklers lost their lives

They are both nice but I like #2 in particular for it has more of themiddle-ground (what is it, a Bay? Reservoir?).

Thanks, it is Morcambe Bay which leads out into the Irish Sea.The bay is dangerous, shifting sandbanks, gullies and quicksands have claimed hundreds of lives over the years.

The henges (circles) in the British Isles predate the Druids and the Celts, who arrived theresome time later.

The Celts believed that the former rulers of the lands were powerful in magic, and the Druids no doubt used the henges in their own religious practices.

I did some digging around the circle is made from limestone and dates from BC 1700-1400 and is known locally as "The Druids Temple".The remains of 5 human creations were found inside the circle.

I found there are more stone circles near my home ,I`ll be snapping them in the future
