Taken from high up in the hills. You can see almost the whole city, or you could if I hadn't reduced the resolution to post it. Okanagan Lake is in the far background a bit left of center. ( Kind of like me, but that's another story...)

Thank you, John. You're absolutely right, this place is a hiker's paradise. There are incredible parks within a few minutes of town that can take weeks to explore, and the views from some of the trails are literally breathtaking. My favorite park (Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park) is criss-crossed with well marked trails that never seem to give you the same experience twice, truly an incredible place. We even have hiking trails smack in the center of town, on Community Hill. It's growing too fast now that Vernon's being heavily promoted as a resort and retirement city, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else
