down at the lake last night and got this shot of the evening sky over the Olympic Mountains, 125 miles to the west...

Very nice! It is hard to imagine seeing something that far away here in Indiana, it is so flat here that I'd guess we might be able to see 3 or 4 miles on a good day.

125 miles! That's astonishing, it looks clearer than a couple of miles around here would. Must be that mountain air :-)

Nice long view sure enough. I really do like trees but it makes me want to take a trip where I can have a view that reaches for miles.

A dramatic composition indeed;snowy mountains surging over a foreground of woods, into a sky of dreamy colours. While appreciating the beauty of the sky with clouds, on the other hand, I considered if leaving a lot of space for the sky would steal from the majesty of the mountains. Thus I could not help but give a little try which is only capable of complimenting the original. I hope you don't mind
