took a trip to the mountains today, and got these pics. Mt. Shuksan is a popular photo spot, for obvious reasons. the lake in the foreground is called Picture Lake, because so many photographers go there. when the water is calm, the reflection is spectacular... unfortunately, it wasn't today. the lake was covered in ice and snow till about a week ago...

a shot of a small waterfall next to the road on the way to Picture Lake...

an old stone cabin near the lake...

a vertical shot of the mountain. the moon is visible in the upper left of the image...

There's some picture postcard stuff there squirl. Beautiful, particularly 1 and 3, (although the crop on the cabin is pretty tight)

Ollie :-)

you can drive right up and park next to it. i think i carried my tripod and camera all of about 150 yards from the car to get the shots across the lake. i want to get back up there one day in autumn, when the colors are changing but before the first major snow (which is usually sometime in the second half of October)... and hopefully get a shot when the lake is calm! as it is, i had the firstpic in this post printed at 11x14, and i gotta say,it looks really framed...

I adore hiking and I am sure I would enjoy spending some time in a location like this. Definitely great shots!
