No not a head of beer, but the headland at a place called "Beer". :-)

The local hotel even has an old advertisment that reads:
"Beer, helping ugly people get laid since 1874". Hmmm, I wonder
if that would get past advertising standards these days!

Anyway, two images taken right bang in the middle of one of hottest July
days on record. Normally that wouldn't really work, but there's some kind
of ultra-violet-blue effect going on here that captures - to me at least -
the feel of the seaside. See what you think, this first one is looking
east towards Beer village (left) and Seaton seafront (centre).

And now from almost the same spot, looking west. The big lump of
fallen cliff is known as "Castle Rock", constant erosion means that
this feature and along with all of the "under cliff" is in constant risk of
falling into the sea, indeed the coastal path here has been moved
several times in recent years after it's former route fell into the sea.

Regards, John.

Nice scenery shots John. The second location would make a person wantto hurry on by:-) Seems as if it is hot all over. We have (Texas) the hottest average yearly temps on record. Not to mention a critical lack of rainfall.

Very well done on both!! It seems to be hot everywhere, we are sweating out 100 degrees heat indexes also.

Beautiful landscape shots John of a coast I know well. The walk between Beer and Branscombe is one of my favourites.

Great beach for fishing boats at Beer as well - pic attached

Thanks for all the comments chaps!

Shaun: I'm really impresed with Beer as a place, for some reason I'd managed to avoid it until this year, but now I think I'm in love: must be those great meals they do in the Dolphin Hotel :-)

Gary and VP: Interesting you pick on the second shot, I prefer the first for some reason. Oh well no accounting for taste and mine is pretty strange at times!

Ollie: don't you realise that beer should always be drunk at room temperature ? :whack:

John.
