Paul, one more thing I forgot to mention, when I take shots like this I try to set the exposure on a spot in the clouds that is midway between the lightest and darkest area in my viewfinder.

Thanks for the replies and explanation, Bob. I appreciate you also posting the original version / format. I can see the changes brought about by the 2 minutes of processing, it's impressive.

The bright area in the clouds in the processed version is more prominent (I guess due to contrast adjustment) and it's reflection doesn't seem so bright in the water and from the original version it's not so noticeable to me.

Hi Bob,

Superb composition, sky and reflections, but I agree with pj about the pp which has made the trees look a bit over exposed or washed out compared to the rest of the pic.
