Below is part of the specification to the canon 40D.

The Specification states clearly Type I or II compact flash card, I have ordered the Lexar 8gb CF card & lexar card reader, which I presume is obviously compatible. I also have a sandisc Extreme IV memory card, will this be compatible?

With reference to the second point……. all as I do now is simply put my memory card into my card reader then transfer my images to my PC via USB cable (copy & paste), will I still be able to do this or will I HAVE to adopt a slightly more up to date method?Specification
Type I or II CF card
* Compatible with Microdrive and 2GB and larger CF cards
* Recording to USB external media enabled with Wireless File Transmitter WFT-
E3/E3A attached

One of the very nice things about the CF format is that everything is pretty straightforward. I have every reason to expect that all your hardware is compatible with all your other hardware, and that you can continue to do things the way you have always done them.

And if you find that something doesn't work, let us know.

In a word YES, you should have no problems at all so can keep working in the same way as you have been.

Enjoy the 40D.
