I recently purchased a Canon GL2 camcorder, which came with an 8mg SD card. After looking around the net, I've noticed that different vendors are selling lexar SD cards with different speed ratings for basically the same price, which confuses me, as the Lexar web site doesn't list different speeds for their SD cards. I've come across these three models - SD256-231, SD256-12-251 and SD256-32-231. I don't have a clue as to what speed the 231 model is suppose to be but the other two are suppose to be 12X and 32X. Will the GL2 perform better with one of the above cards over the other two or will the three give basically the same performance in the Camcorder? If anyone has any knowledge in this area I'd greatly appreciate your opinion.

I got the answer back from Lexar before anyone posted to this question. Here is the "official" answer.
Hello Joe, All are the same size and function only the package difference. Actually we have not tested this camcorder in our DVT lab, I would suggest you to contact with their tech. support for compatibility. Best Regards, LexarMedia Tech. Support |
