Has anyone heard any thing about xD cards coming out in larger sizes. Fuji claims they can be made upto 8GB and back in 2005 claimed they would release 4GB card in 2006 according to an e-mail they sent me. STILL waiting.,....

Anyway have any info that would lead you to believe that Fuji or Olympus might release a 4GB or 8GB xD card by the end of the year.

There's an interesting piece of information on the Olympus America website that seems to indicate that there won't be any xD cards larger than 2GB.

See http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_se...ma_microSD.asp

While this page is about the Olympus microSD Adapter (MASD-1), it states that xD cards, 2GB and less, are compatible with their cameras, yet says nothing aboutxD cards larger than 2GB. This couldindicate that they have no intention of producing xD cards with larger capacities.

The good news is that the Olympus microSD Adapter (MASD-1) allows the use of microSD and, more pertinent to this discussion, microSDHC cards which are available in larger capacities. See Simplest ever storage solutions for Olympus-xD card users. and SanDisk microSDHC™ 8 GB.
