I've had my Canon Powershot S3 IS and a Silicon Power SD Card Ultima 1GB for two years now, and theyjust started doing this.

After moving my images onto my computer and deleting themfrom my camera, I tried to take a photo and after hitting the button, it said "Memory Card Error." It did not record the image, and all the other images I had just deleted came back onto the camera. I removed and cleaned the memory card and blew out the dust in the slot and put it back in. This was the first time I had touched the memory card compartment since I got the camera and after reinserting it, it did the same. I tried to format it and it wouldn't let me, saying "Memory Card Error" again.

Should I just get a new memory card? Do memory cards wear out?

Any ideas?

Have you got a card reader? If so, try formatting the card using this software (you'll see a download link at the bottom of the page):
