Yes, the Sandisk 256Mb Ultra II is CF Type I and it is a very nice card.

I use one with my 5050 and it will write a 7.5Mb RAW file to the card in 3.4 seconds, which is pretty good.

In comparison, a similar image takes 7.1 seconds to write to a SmartMedia or xD card.

I can certainly recommend it.

Default Lexar

There is another choice: Lexar 256MB (40x).

Very fast, very reliable and relatively cheap at:

The price in Canadian dollars just $109.99 = $81.39 USD.

Currency converter:

I am using two cards since 2002 and I am very happy with speed and reliability.

Default Max speed for canon A80

I too am in a similar position to the original poster here. I just purchased a canon a80.

Forgive me here for not spending some time in doing a little digging and research, but I certainly don't recall it anywhere in what research I did on the camera. What speed card is a good choice for this camera?

I would think that the 40x lexar card, and anything similar to it would be overkill at 6MB/s. Maybe not, I really don't know, but I would appreciate it if someone did have some insight/experience as to what is the best price/performance ration cf card for this camera.
