Default Warning: Be very careful if you buy memory from China/Hong Kong on ebay

Of course this is a generalization but there is plenty of evidence that they are a problem:

From what I can tell there are a group of about 300 people (usually from China or Hong Kong) that give each other positive reviews so they look like good sellers.
Often the cards:
1) don't work at all
2) don't support the amount of memory they claim they support - like a 32 gb card only stores 32 mb. The card tricks the computer to say it stores 32 gb but when you put stuff on it and then try to retrieve it, you get nothing but errors.
3) become non-functional after a few uses

Sometimes (as in my case), the sellers send a completely different product. (I was sent a cheap piece of jewlery instead of a 32 gb card - the seller was kicked off ebay right after I paid for the card - ebay did refund my money).

Just trying to protect my fellow photographers!

ebay does have some great deals but you have to be very careful as to which vendors to deal with. There is also quite a few sellers that use friends and family bid on their auctions to drive up the price of an item.
if you get scammed ebay and also if you use paypal they will go to bat for you as well.
