Default my computer is telling me that my cameras sd card needs formatted??

i can take pictures and all without a problem. my camera doesn't say anything about it needing formatted. as soon as i put my sd card into my laptop it tells me i need to format my card and it won't let me do anything else. i have pictures that aren't backed up onto my computer so i don't want to format it, especially when my camera recognizes the disk.

what the hell is going on?? this is driving me crazy.

don't do a format with the computer, have you tried it on another computer?

If you need to format it, do it in the camera

Try leaving your card in your camera, and connecting your camera to your laptop via the USB cable instead. You should be able to get your photos off that way. Then you can format your card (in your camera.)

BTW, has your card ever worked in your laptop?

One way is to use memory card data recovery tool, take a look at this guide: recover data from not formatted memory card

Take note that you better do not do anything before you get back files from memory card.
