Default How do I fix video file

I recovered files accidentally deleted from my sd card using photorec software. I was specifically looking for a video deleted last night and while looking through I see that what should be in video format are now a bunch of jpg still shots that don't play. How did this happen and is there any way of getting this back into video format?

I think the first thing I would do would be to try another recovery program. IIRC, photorec is going to look for still images as default. If your camera uses .mov or motion jpeg, then that is what photorec will see, is a series of jpeg files.
If that doesn't work, or you have recorded over the card, you will need a video editor. I think the Apple Quicktime is capable of doing this, and there are sure to be others.
