Default hi spd SD cards in kyocera sl300 and pentax optio s4

Anyone know if using a high speed SD card would matter in either of these cameras? If not, would the brand of regular 256 matter? I read thru the topics and it seems like it depends on the camera. Also I read that sandisk CF cards are known for being slow. Is this true for SD cards as well?

Sandisk Standard Secure Digital Cards in 256mb size are not even considered to be compatible in my camera by Konica-Minolta. These cards are very slow. I do not know if they would work reliably in your Pentax.
