Default Reading of memory sick Pro Duo

Recently purchased a Sony DSC T1 camera and a 256MB Lexar memory stick PRO duo. I took the Lexar stick to a local processing shop (with supplied memory stick duo adaptor) but the shop could not read the Lexar memory stick. The supplied 32MB Sony memory stick duo could be read but not the Lexar Pro duo. This was the same at 2 other processing shops. There are no problems transfering the photos to my PC or from my PC to the memory stick.

Could the problem be with the shops card readers ? i.e. not able to read the new memory stick PRO duo. I live in UK which is not exactly at the forefront of technology anymore !! :?

As with all "new" technologies it takes time for all the other guys to catch up to it. Many photo kiosks and other photo services are not setup to read the new Pro Sony cards yet.
