Do you mean CompactFlash (a memory type common in digital cameras) versus Compaq (the computer manufacturer) Flash?

If so, the answer is no.

There are many types of media used in Digital Cameras (Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, Memory Stick Duo, xD Picturecard, SmartMedia, CompactFlash Type I, CompactFlash Type II, Secure Digital, and more).

Only Memory Stick or Memory Stick Pro media is compatible with the DSC-W1 (although you can use Memory Stick Duo with an adapter).

Memory Stick Pro is the recommended media for this model (faster than Memory Stick and available in larger capacities). CompactFlash will not work.
