I have just brough hom a Canon S1 IS.

1) What is the minimum speed of CF card I need for my Canon S1 IS in order that it is able to do continuous video in the highest quality setting? I bought a 12x Lexar 512 MB card for starters. If its not fast enough for video, I'll keep it for photo's

2) What are the better USB 2.0 multi-card readers? I'd like one which reads smart media, SD and CF at least.

Why are these camera companies so crazy with all these zillions of card formats!

You need a 45x or faster CF card to avoid any problems while recording high framerate video. Both Lexar and Sandisk make a great multi-card USB 2.0 reader, see the reviews:

I too have the Canon S1IS and was wondering about card readers. Is there any that you can move files from one card to the other?

And would there be any that can do this without a computer.

I find that SD cards are cheaper than CF around here and thenI could view the pics in my SD enabled PDA.
