I just got a great deal ($95) on a 5gb Seagate for my Canon Pro1. It seems to work fine (my PC sees it ok) and the Pro-1 doesn't mind fat-32 discs (reformated my 512CF-I's both ways)....

But when I put in the new microdrive, the camera shows it as having a 3.8 MB capacity, and complains in various ways until I take it out - and refuses to format it.

I have a lot of 512's sitting around, and frankly they work fine, but it was such a good deal, I thought why not? Does anyone have any idea what's wrong here? Also, what will running a microdrive do to my battery life?
