This is a general warning to all you ppl buying memory cards off of ebay!
Needless to say, im royally pissed! I guess the saying goes - things that appear to good to be true usually are!!

I bought a "Brand New 2G SanDisk Ultra II SD Card" off ebay.. managed to snag it at $112usd (+ $17 shipping)
First bad signs were:
- no retail packaging (tho this was as described)
- the contacts showed wear

Raising my suspicion, I ran out to buy an authentic retail card to do some comparisons. I've compiled my findings at:

The seller has now made his feedback private to hide what i had left behind. Likely he'll resurface under a new account. Buyers beware~

PS, the seller did offer a full refund, but that doesn't make the wrong doings right!

That is unfortunate. Especially for those numerous honest ebayers like myself. I just this week sold 2 (authentic, ofcourse) Sandisk memory cards on eBay. People like the one you've exposed ruin the integrity of the system and can impact others.

One piece of advice I can offer is to stick with sellers who are "individuals" as opposed to ones who are "storefronts" or "resellers". I'm not saying that these resellers are necessarily troublesome (I have purchased from them in the past without incident), however you have to wonder how some of these people obtain and sell large amounts of a product for a profit. I mean they sure aren't buying them from Amazon and turning a profit on eBay.

After buying a fake Canon battery on Ebay, I've vowed not to buy any electronics of any type on Ebay anymore. It's just not worth the crap you have to do afterwards to try to get your money back. I'm still waiting for the money.

Until this kind of crap significantly affects e-bay (and they decide to do some serious policing of themselves), honestsellers like Leonard will suffer. I also do not buy off of e-bay (mostly because the two times in the past that I registered in anticipation of buying, a started getting a lot of spam).

I'm the ebay seller "blown-z". I figured I would step in and let people know the truth about my products. Here is a picture of what my SanDisk Ultra 2G SD cards really look like:

You will notice the serial numbers and the look of the card so you can call SanDisk to verify how 100% original it really is.

Thank You!

How do you explain the card that you sold to Comatose then?

Thanks for "heads up"

Personally, I would be too skert (scared) to have only 2g card.

I would probably go with 1G x 2 instead just for "insurance".

Again, many thanks!

You know.. I thought my site was fairly clear, but perhaps Im mistaken. The pictures on my site (http://members.shaw.ca/fakesandisk/) depicting what I bought off him *ALSO* have a serial number printed on the back of the card as well.. so what does that prove?. Plastics, labels, print -- sure, they can vary. The electronic serial number inside the card is what I'm after.

While you're busy posting pretty pics of your products, how about this one you sell on your auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/2GB-Secure-Digit...QQcmdZViewItem)

What the HECK is this? and who makes this? :?

Almost has the look of a standard Sandisk card. But I don't think it is
