Hi Folks

I just go into the kitchen and get a peice of clear food wrap and cut it to size and put it on the LCD where it stays in place. I have had it on my 7HI for 2 years now ...I do change it as needed.

Happy Festivis !

Just for some information the original post had a URL to an ebay sale. The sale was removed by Ebay for some breach of Ebay rules. There was even a warning not to buy from that person. Probably some type of scam.

My assertion is that one's camera does not need safety goggles,

it needs underwear. First, separate the two issues people try to

address with plastic protectors. (1) skin oil (2) scratches.

Skin oil happens during normal careful use and should not be

considered a problem at all. A drop of methanol on a soft cotton

cloth takes it off easily and completely. Scratches tend not to happen

during normal careful use but rather in the bag (or the pocket,

or the glove box). In the SLR days, bags tended to be big and normally

had dividers to keep the contents from rubbing together, today's

smaller bags often do not. When storing or transporting a camera in a

bag which does not provide a dedicated compartment, I recommend

that your camera wear underwear (ie. wrap it in something soft).

I have a piece of clean white cotton from an old t-shirt.

No amount of plastic wrap is going to protect your camera

from the tripod quick-connector you tossed in with it just before

setting off down twenty miles of gravel road.

...my take on plastic protectors, for what it's worth.
