I have a Canon 5000F scanner that I have had less than 2 years now. The other night when I was scanning negatives when the image previews became reallly pixelated, but the colors were correct. But when I ran the scan and the images went into PhotoShop Elements 3, they were incorrect. Everything has a blue tint. When scanning I made sure that it was set for color negative film. It did not matter if I had the color management in PSE set to Full, Limited or None. All of this changed from one scan to the next.
I uninstalled the driver and scanner from the machine then reinstalled (I already had the most current driver but downloaded again for the reinstall) and the color issue is better but still not good. But the preview is still really bad.
Now for the weird part. If I scan a print, everything is fine.

Any ideas? Is my scanner hosed (at least for negatives) or all together? If so, any recommendations for a new scanner. I do alot of slide shows for my church and several people who contribut pics do not have digital cams, so I prefer to scan negatives if they have them so the ability to do both is important.
