I just ran across your posting and enjoyed it. Recording all the textures and patterns is not an easy job for digital or film, and it's the kind of subject that would also make me want to take a few shots at it. Lots of wood artists would convert this into a lamp base, table base, or display of some sort and it would turn up at an arts and crafts show.
