Default Want to purchase new Digicam

I'm looking to purchase a new digital camera.

My friend has a Canon S-50, but I'd like one where you can add extra lenses.

I'm going to get more into photography and would like to buy a camera similar to the slr's that use film. I'd like to be able add on to the camera.

I was looking at the Minolta 7ihi.

I have a SLR but it is manual focus. I also seem to have trouble with the focusing. And I don't want the extra expense of film and developing on a SLR with auto focus.

The 7ihi seems a little expensive. Is there another comparable camera that has the option of adding lenses on that may be less expensive than the Minolta?

Thanks in advance to your help.

The Canon A70 allows , with an adapter, a wide angle and a 1.4 X telephoto lens to be added.

It also has a lot of manual features
