Hi, new to the site so I'll say "Hello" first, I put my question in the SEARCH box but could not see anything that looked like it could help me.

I have a Casio Exilim S500 which I am very happy with in camera mode. I would like to get more out of the video mode on it though.
I DJ at a lot of clubs and would love to get some footage of the dance floor but all the videos I try and shoot come out too dark and the sound quality is shocking because its so loud.

Does anyone know what shot mode and what settings would be the best to get videos in a dark(ish) place?
and is it possible to turn the mic leval down so it comes out quieter and less distorted?

Thanks in adavance.

Nice forum by the way

Unfortunately, there is only so much you can wring out of a sub-$200 point & shoot camera, and low light video with professional audio reproduction isn't one of them. Your cam only is capable of ISO 400, and has a fairly small sensor, so I don't think any setting will give you what you're looking for. Your best bet would be to invest in a good camcorder with a boom mike.

Good luck.
