Default Newbee needs upgrade info

I have a Canon s110 and am in the process of a upgrade...down to final 2, but need some help...Panasonic dmc-fz1 or new toshiba pdr-m700. Panasonic is just 2 pixel but has 12x lens. (I love long shots) but toshiba may be better with 3.2 pix and 10x...Just about time to flip a coin...both can be had online for within $20 of each other...anyone care to help?

If you want to have prints larger than 5x7 I'd go for the 3.2 MP one. how much difference is there between 10x-12x optical?

Well you can print out 8x10s with a 2MP camera, but you have no room to crop and have to frame the picture perfectly

One of the most important features of the Panasonic FZ1 is the
image stabilization. I don't know if the Toshiba has it, but I doubt
it. If not, the two cameras are really not equivalent.

A 10X or 12X zoom is not very useful without image stabilization.
You can't hold the camera still enough to prevent blurred images,
unless you use a tripod.
