Default Digital camera resolution

:?: I just bought a Fugi FinePix 2650. I'm not that familiar with digital cameras. Is there a site where I can learn when to use .3M, 1M, 2M-N, or 2M-F resolution. We usually shoot vavation pictures and such.

Try www.shortcourses.com. They have a link to digital camera picture course. Good for a beginning.

With memory as cheap as it is now, I'd always shoot in the 2m-f because you never know when you'll get the shot of a lifetime and want to make quality prints. Generally 1m is good for 4x6's with no cropping and 2m is good for 5x7's and the occasional 8x10.

Yes, I'd agree shoot the highest quality as memory is cheap. I don't know this cam, but if it becomes very much slower and klunky with the highest file size, that might be the only reason to choose another option acceptable for your normal print sizes.

You may need to look at in-camera sharpen settings or post edit sharpening if you think the fine mode prints are too soft looking for your taste.
