The majority of newer consumer models have a "movie" mode which usually consists of small frames and around 15 seconds of 15 frames per second or sometimes 30 frames per second.

Some like the new Sony 8 megapixel and certain Fuji models can shoot 640x480 frames continuously until the storage media is full. On the Fuji, it takes a 1 gigabyte microdrive to keep up and that gives you about 15 minutes of movie.

The down side is that when shooting higher resolution (640x480) you really need a tripod because camera shake will make the "movie" very jerky.

Non of the dSLR's have a movie mode. To see if a particular camera has or does not have a "movie" mode, check the reviews here and elsewhere.
