Default Canon 10D question...

Just shot a few pics using flash incl with Cacon 10D. The photos
were taken inside of several relatives and after downloading into
Adobe, I found the skin tones to be very washed out! What can
be done about this. (It is much worse than the Nikon 5000
flash results.) I've had the camera for a few days and found it
very easy to use otherwise. What to do?

There are a couple possibilities. First, are photos taken without flash likewise washed out?

Second, which "Adobe" product are you using and which color space is it set for and is it the same as the camera?

You have the options in your menu to change saturation and contrast, so you may want to experiment because typically the camera is set up for a default which allows maximum dynamic range capture. This is usually somewhat lower contrast and saturation than you normally see with typical "consumer" level products.

Another question is what the while balance was set for. AWB (Auto White Balance) is fairly good (although I've had it mess up a few times.) That could throw off colors. I'm not sure I'd call it "Washed out" but it certainly could make someone look odd colors (yellow ish, for example.)
