Default what kind of quality to expect from 2 MP + dye sub printer

I'm thinking about asking for a dye-sub printer (like the HiTi PhotoShuttle) for Christmas. My camera is an Olympus D-520 2.0 Megapixel. I'm wondering what kind of quality print I can expect out of that combination of hardware. Ideally I'd like the print to be basically indistinguishable from a traditional film-developed print. Is that realistic? I have confidence in the printer, but I wonder if the resolution of the camera is up to the task.

Thanks for any advice you can provide.

I printed at 8x10 a 2 MP picture at a Kodak Picture Maker kiosk which has a dye-sublimation printer. The results were amazing. It was a good picture to start with anyhow, but I think your combination of hardware should produce very good results.

About the results being indistinguishable from pictures taken from film, much of it depends on the camera and type of film you are comparing with. In the hands of the same person, a 2 MP digital camera will most likely produce much better results than a cheap or mid-priced point-and-shoot film camera.
