Default Group of 35-40 with Sony DSC-H50

Any ideas on which settings will be best to get a large final print? We will be outdoors in front of a small waterfall, in full shade so I don't have to deal with shadows. I'm just not sure what settings will be best to get a clear large print. (Say 16x20)

Welcome to the Forum. We are pleased that you dropped by.

Your proposed photo environment may prove to be a bit challenging. Being in the shade, you will not have to deal with any strong or harsh shadows, but the lighting will be fairly flat. How many people will be in the group.

If you can keep the group fairly compact, an 11 X 14 or a 16 X 20 print will be feasible. However if you have to string the group out standard sized prints might not be feasible.

Use a tripod to get your greatest sharpness. The H-50 does have a 28mm wide angle position in it zoom range, but depending on the group size, and/or how they are arranged, you might has to move back a measurable distance. be sure to take multiple shots, so you can choose the best shot.
