Time Warp?

These are both 8 year old cameras.

Then as now, for that kind of shooting, you're better off with a dSLR and a macro lens.
  • The lens is the thing.
  • 'Full Frame' is the new 'Medium Format'.

Yea you are right but i don't want heavy DSLR camera, i want to use simple point and shot with high quality image 8 MP is enough for my personal product photography and Also DSLR cost much higher then these cameras, i can get these cameras under $150 in good condition through eBay. and a used DSLR cost nearly $500. that's why i asked about above cameras, so give us your opinions which one is best. Canon Pro1 or Olympus C-8080 ?

These are indeed "getting on a bit" and the biggest problem you may face is actually getting one that is FULLY functioning- with all switches dials working as intended and no dead pixels on the sensor..!!
Getting back to the cameras- there really wasn't much to choose between them- both with fairly fast lenses, iso topping out at 400,small adjustable lcd's and both with a super macro mode- which should be handy for jewellery.
I'd say the Olympus edges the Canon in IQ- but it's a close call.
To be honest, 8 years is a long time in photography technology- and you'd probably get as good- if not better- results with a decent compact camera these days...!
However- if you're looking for decent macro photography on a budget and second hand- consider the Fuji S5700 or S5800.
Their "less than wide" 38mm lens is ideal for close work- and they have a "super macro" mode.
I took many a good macro shot with them...
