Trouble with facebook upload

I want to upload photos to my facebook account. When I get the explorer window presented the file type being sought is Image. I do not seem to be able to alter this, but my files are labelled as .jpg. What do I need to do, please?

I don't use Facebook, so take this with a grain of salt. (hopefully not a my-grain) The .jpg file extension is an image file, so will probably work. My guess is that the Facebook uploader will allow many types of image files, including .jpg, .gif, .tif, etc.
