First I assume 1K means $1000 not all of us are razor sharp at abbrevs.

If you're thinking of getting something as advanced as a Canon 300D you must have had some prior experiences with a camera?
If you are a complete newbie a first purchase of 300D might be a bit imposing. Please keep in mind that ordinary equipment and well developed skills beats great equipment and undeveloped skills any day.

That said, for 1K the Canon 300D can be had and its a fine camera combo.

Not sure what you are asking. Yes you can get the Rebel with the starter lens for 1k. Add a fast 512Mb CF card and you are a hundred over if you watch sales and rebates.

Are you asking maybe about a long stabilized telephoto lens for it within the 1k budget? We donít do miracles.
