Default HELP!

Help! I am leaving for Hawaii in a week and am doing some last minute shopping for a digital camera. I am completely lost trying to look for an all around good digital camera. It needs to be no higher than $400 (US) and fairly user friendly. I can learn some advanced features...but nothing too difficult. I was hoping on finding one with interchangable lenses and preferably no camrecorder feature. But I need help! What's the best brand name of digital camera? Is there anything that I'm looking for in my price range?

As of this day, only if you're interested on a film camera can you get interchangeable lenses at that price. But as for a fairly good digital camera, I have only played around with my fiancée's Nikon Coolpix 2100. Now there's a 2200 and 3200 out in the market. They go for around $179 (2 megapixels) and $279 (3.2 megapixels) respectively.
