Default CP8700 vs. D70 - Question??

Advice please. What advantage is there in going to the D70 (instead of CP8700) for someone who is planning on taking JPEGs of people (indoor and outdoors) with little or no post-processing?

How far away will your subjects be?

The big advantage of the D70 (which has replacable lenses) vs. all-in-one cameras is flexability. If you need a wide angle, you can get one. If you need a telephoto you can get that too. As since you are buying the parts yourself, you can choose how high a quality lens you want to buy based on your standards.

In theory, the D70 should have a larger image sensor. This usually means lower digital noise at higher ISO values. This is a good thing. I haven't read the review, so I don't know if this is actually true with the D70, though.

If he 8700 does what you want (including zoom reach & other things) then consider side & weight... cost... how it feels in your hand. Picture quality is the most important thing, but it isn't everything. If a camera is too big, then you won't bring it and you'll miss pictures because of that.
