A couple weeks ago I got my first camera (first real camera anyways), the Canon S200. Today after taking a bunch of photos of a few scenes with various settings I later noticed that some of them focused on the foreground (flowers) while others focused more on the background (building) or both. What exactly is it about the settings that affects the focusing? To get a better understanding of the features, if I were to take a picture of this
for example, what settings would I set the camera at to focus on on the flowers, or the building, etc.
Thanks for any help!
