Default Resolution Question for Olympus C4040Z

:? Resolution Question: I just sold my Olympus C2040Z and purchased a C4040Z. The 2040 shot at 1600X1200 in SHG mode. If I set the 4040 to that same size will the picture be the same or better that the 2040. I'm sure I should know the answer to this question but I don't. I know thta the 4040 will shoot at a higher resolution but what if.....
Thanks for the help

If you shoot at the same resolution as the 2040 then you will have the same picture quality. Why???

Theoretically the C-4040 capturing a 1600x1200 image should be (and probably is) superior to the C-2040 capturing the same image. The reason being that it has a higher resolution imager and is actually recording more data before it down-sizes the image to 2-megapixel size.
